After School Program: FAQ’s

Are the children well supervised?

Yes! We keep the child-to-staff ratio low (10:1) and have well trained, experienced staff at each site.

Do the kids get a snack?

Absolutely. Our Y-Kids are hungry when they get out of class, so the first things we do are to take roll and give the kids a healthy snack (Goldfish and Cheese-itz are perennial favorites).

Is this a tutoring program?

No. But the YMCA staff does help the children complete their homework and learn the concepts or skills pertaining to it.

Do the children have time to play?

Yes! In fact, active play is a point of emphasis. YMCA staff lead the kids in exercise and organized games, and keep them moving.
